Description

Photography as Motive is a book that is at once an artists’ manual, a theory and a practice of photography. It describes in exemplary fashion the encounter between the practice of photographic shooting and its artistic reflection.

Three artists, Lisa Rastl, Claudia Rohrauer and Caroline Heider, reflect on their craft, their qualifications, their technical and theoretical knowledge, their work on the motif – in short, on the facets of imaging media in the image.

Texts by Ruth Horak, Ulrike Matzer, Andreas Spiegl and Franz Thalmair, as well as by the artists themselves, accompany this encounter and continue to write alongside the series of images.
