Description
Cécile Monnier’s Des nuits sans silence is a striking visual journey along the rivers of the Fribourg region in Switzerland. Through a series of black-and-white photographs, Monnier captures the nuanced relationship between fishers, their environment, and the spiritual dimensions of river fishing. Her work bridges realism and magic, highlighting pressing issues such as land use, agriculture, and ecological impact. Using a large-format camera, Monnier immerses herself physically and emotionally in the landscapes, creating images that transcend traditional documentary photography and invite reflection on our intertwined connection with nature.
