Brigitte Lustenberger – An Apparition of Memory
CHF 83.00
Description
In this magical illustrated book, Brigitte Lustenberger explores the passing of time, memory and the fragility of life. She transforms flowers dried on slide glass into delicate photographs. Lustenberger celebrates the beauty of decay and leads us into a fascinating world of withered flowers. The pictures show the incredible details of nature’s ingenious constructions. The artist manages to unite both the fleeting quality of a light drawing and the preserving quality of a photograph.
Four essays by renowned curators provide an insight into the artist’s process-oriented way of working, the interweaving of analogue and digital technology in this work and embed An Apparition of Memory in Western and Japanese photographic and art history.
