Workshop with Gian Losinger
17 November 2019, 13:00 – 17:00
Workshop with photographer Gian Losinger
Gian Losinger explores in his work the perception of reality. The installation of his images in the exhibition space is central, and their positioning often plays with perception, thus questioning objectivity and truth. By working with pairs of photographs, the artist opens up possible stories, and invites the viewer to create their own stories.
During the workshop on 17 November, participants are invited to work on the basis of a photograph they have brought with them. What creates a tension between individual images and how can we tell stories with them? New photographs will be taken in the vicinity of Biel, which will then be presented and discussed at the Photoforum. Pairs of images will then be created, which will enlarge and challenge the photographs brought by the participants.
After a residency with Marco Grob in New York and studies in art history in Bern, Gian Losinger (*1996 in Bern, CH) is currently studying at HEAD in Geneva in the bachelor’s program, with an option in photography. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Bern and Biel.
