Art Education
Photoforum Pasquart offers a diverse outreach program for adults, children, and young people. Public events, guided tours, walking tours, and workshops offer unexpected and stimulating approaches to our exhibitions. Likewise, artist talks offer direct exchange and provide a deeper insight into the works shown at Photoforum Pasquart. Guided tours, walking tours, and workshops to explore Photoforum Pasquart can be booked for groups.
If you would like to book a guided tour, please contact us via -> info@photoforumpasquart.ch.

Schools, children, and youth groups
Photoforum Pasquart’s Art Mediation Service offers a variety of workshops and exhibition tours for classes of all levels. We’re also happy to help you plan day trips, theme weeks, or longer-term school projects in the field of photography, image, and media skills.
Interactive tour
This interactive tour allows us to explore the exhibition playfully. We get closer to the works by asking questions and looking for our own approaches to the images and their claim to truth. The students themselves become mediators and learn from each other. (from 12 years old, 60 min)
Hidden face workshop
In the “Hidden Face” workshop, we examine facial recognition mechanisms and talk about what happens to our images when we post them online. We then use make-up, hairstyles or masks to change our faces so that they are no longer recognised as faces by algorithms, thus circumventing the recognition mechanisms of surveillance cameras and facial recognition systems such as Face ID.
Picture stories
In the workshop “Stories in pictures” we have a closer look at what is in a photograph. What does the picture show us, what does it hide? What story does the photograph tell us? We explore the content of different photographs and series of images, and the emotions they evoke, and then learn about body language and facial expressions of emotions. In small groups, we imagine our own stories and discover how we can tell them with a series of photographs. (Suitable for children and primary school, 90 min)
Blue light and white shadow
The workshop provides an understanding of how images are captured and how they end up on paper or screen. The participants are then invited to experience the cyanotype, an ancient photographic process. (suitable for children and primary school, 90 min)
Price
130 CHF / 90 min, short guided tour and workshop with a mediator. 90 CHF / 45-60 min, guided tour with a mediator
Support for cultural activities in the schools of Biel/Bienne, support by the Canton of Berne
All our workshops are supported by the City of Biel. School classes from kindergarten to 11 years of age can take advantage of this offer and book these activities free of charge. As the number of classes that can benefit from this offer is limited, we recommend booking the activity as soon as possible. The Canton of Berne offers school classes cultural vouchers for the cost of transport to a cultural venue. The Canton of Bern also supports cultural projects in schools.
